The gas side of one brand, indoors and out
Since 2014 this has been a Wolf shop in Denver and nothing else: first the ranges, rangetops, cooktops and ventilation inside the house, and now the outdoor grills behind it. Narrow on purpose. What decides whether a visit is worth what it costs is almost always whether the person standing there has met that fault on that equipment before.
Why an indoor gas shop took on the patio
Because it is the same argument with the walls taken away. A Wolf grill is a manifold, a set of orifices sized for one fuel, burners with air shutters, and an ignition circuit — the parts this shop has been measuring in Denver kitchens for years, only now they spend February outdoors. The habits carry straight over: read the supply under load rather than guess at it; judge an igniter on what it draws, not on how it looks; check the burner tubes before condemning anything, because after a winter under a cover that is usually where the answer is. Nobody here is authorised or certified by the manufacturer, and this site never claims otherwise — what it claims is that the gas path gets measured.
What thin air actually changes
A burner is sized for the air it will get, and at this elevation it gets less than the figure the appliance was set up around. Indoors that shows up as yellow-tipped flames, soot under the pans and a simmer that either scorches or goes out. Outdoors it shows up as a grill that takes longer to come up and loses the heat again the moment the wind finds it.
